Chime in if you can attend February 11,12 and 13 immediately following the hog hunt

We had a good time in spite of bad weather. The rain and mud made my job a lot harder than usual. Everyone had an opportunity and did put the sights on an animal and pulled the trigger. However, not everyone went home with a full cooler. These were free ranging animals on the ranch and the species we focused on were born and raised out there. It was as fair chase as it gets within the confines of one ranch. The fellowship was great and we each learned something about the guns, hunting and ourselves. I'll post pictures soon and we will each be contributing a post with our individual experience and lessons learned. You will see TX Safari: "Insert name here"s Tip posted from each of us over the next couple of days. That's our way of sharing the experience with those of you who wanted to attend but could not make it this time. There were several nice animals taken and everyone cashed in on a fat TX Cottontail to break the ice. Reports to follow.......

Jack is a levergun enthusiast that is working on getting his first one. He came out to see what we were shooting. He is a reader here but has not posted.

Nancy saw that picture of me and still hasn't stopped laughing. Apparently she thinks it's a terrible picture. I just think you caught me in normal mode - mouth yappin', belly relaxed cocky son of a Southern woman. Nancy must see me as more poised and genteel. OK by me

Thanks from the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains,

Tell her that you are the one that dresses the group up, while you are wearing your tassle loafers.

I have just purchased a .480 Ruger caliber Puma carbine. I am going to the range this weekend to start getting used to it. Let's see if a hog will fall to it. I am waiting on my employer to tell me that I have the time off. Cross your fingers that I can be there to enjoy it with all of you who are going on the 11, 12, and 13th.
