I will try to get RAC and others to provide captions as they are
able to.
It looks like they had a very hard time .. I mean, roughing it
like that!

Since I can't go to the
Cody Linebaugh Seminar, I've started on the wife for the next
trip to Africa. The problem is that it comes during the school
year.
Love the pics!

All the photos haven't
been updated on my website as yet. I'll try and do so as soon as
I'm back from my buff hunt.

Maybe it is because I have
been reading about Africa since I was eight years old, but
everytime I read, see photo's or watch video of "The Dark
Continent" it always seems like "Home". This is all the more
strange to me,as I have spent 95% of my life in Alaska!

Festus, I've been in
Europe, Asia, and I obviously prefer the USA (born and raised),
but have NEVER been to Africa. It doesn't necessarily "seem like
home" to me, but doesn't seem like an "exotic land" either. It
seems like a place I'd like to go to and feel comfortable in.
Maybe you ought to book a spot on the next safari! Maybe I
oughtta join you! Maybe next year!
Now, I have a .32 Win Spl. Wrangler...what ELSE do I need for
Africa...a 45-70? Not interested in the dangerous stuff just
yet. Did anyone take game on this trip with a .45 Colt or
comparable?

I cannot emphasize this enough. This has nothing to do with
dangerous game. Unless you are killing dik-diks or duikers, you
need to take more gun. From my experience, I think that a 45-70
is about perfect. Ditto a 444 Marlin. Be careful about the
bullets that you choose. About the smallest thing you will shoot
is an impala and they go way up in size from there. It is no fun
seeing something run off and having to pay a trophey fee. |

RAC,
Brings back fond memories, especially the warthog, bushbuck &
blesbok...also was fortunate enough to take a 40" gemsbok, 2
nice impala, and a record springbok over two trips.
Very nice pics, especially appreciate the nice mix and captions.
