Fellow leverguns.com members:

Chris Troskie contacted me and told me he has to get an idea of who will be coming on safari May 3-10th. If he cannot confirm at least a few folks, he will have to book other parties!

This is a great opportunity to see Africa and hunt plainsgame. Chris' daily rate is very reasonable. I figured you can shoot quite a number of animals that have a trophy fee as low as $250. Of course there are others that cost more. You can make the whole trip for around $4200 with several animals.

I have seen airfares from Atlanta running from $1080 to $1564 depending on cabin class and your starting destination.

As far as getting your trophies back, I use a company called Flora and Fauna. We can save a lot of money by having more than one persons trophies shipped and handled together.

Personally, I will take a lot of photos. I will have european mounts sent home (skull and horns). If you shoot a representative species of anything you can purchase a new taxidermy mount in the US to showcase your photo and represent the animal you actually shot.

I can't be the only one that wants to go. I urge you to seriously consider saving, borrowing or re-arranging to make this trip!

I hope to see you there!

OP IS THE FIRST TO SEND HIS DEPOSIT AND IS CONFIRMED

There are now SIX including me.

Joe

If you have ever wanted to hunt Africa, now is the time to do it. The dollar is favorable there so you get a good deal for your money. The animals are plentiful. They know how to take care of you and show you a good time. The hunting and the country is spectacular.

You do need to get in touch with Chris right away and start the process.

I'm interested but I have other concerns and need a bit of time to consider some options.

I understand Hobie .. and I know that most everyone has things that come up. But for those of you who are seriously considering this, I suggest you at least email Chris and let him know who you are and that you are seriously thinking along these lines.

I am seriously thinking about going, Jim. It's a question of timing with other obligations (i.e. job). I thoroughly enjoyed watching the video you sent, and really want to go shoot an impala, warthog, zebra, etc. When does Chris need an answer by?

I suggest you contact him and run it past him. He is a good guy to work with and understands the problems involved in an endeavor like this.

If this were for 2009 I'd be on board, but I have already bid for all my annual leave next year. Yes, I have to bid for my leave, and it has to be done this early.

My brother and I have been talking about an Africa trip for a while. Oh, I wish it were 2009.
